Web Summit - Lisbon Tips

So, you’re also heading to Lisbon for Web Summit❓

COOL, ME TOO 🥳

I have never been to Web Summit 🐣

So I’m pretty excited to visit this year and connect with everyone driving innovation in tech ⚡️

Whilst I have never been to Web Summit I found this blog with some tips for the conference 👍🏼

My mother is Portuguese (from a small village of a few hundred people called Farejinhas near Viseu in the North) and I grew up in the Algarve during my teenage years 🇵🇹

And also lived in Lisbon for some time for work 🌉

Here’s some tips for restaurants, bars and sightseeing that I wanted to share with you so you can make the most of your time in this beautiful city 🙂

RESTAURANTS

Time out Market (go crazy with so many options!)

Cervejaria Ramiro (hot place in Lisbon for seafood, book in advance)

Solar dos Presuntos (wowww the seafood is to die for)

Boi-Cavalo in Aflama (food with a twist, good veg options!)

Taberna de Rua das Flores

Cafe de Sao Bento (amaaazing steaks)

A Merendeira (cheap soup to warm up and you must have to have the pão com chouriço!)

Restaurante Plano for fine dining

Ponto Final on other side of river where you dine right on the Tagus

Faz Frio

QOSQO (Peruvian)

Pharmacia Felicidade (cocktails in a charming pharmacy setting)

Settle your sweet tooth craving at Alcôa

Jesus é Goês (Goan restaurant)

O Velho Eurico

Casa da Índia

Casa do Alentejo

Petisco Saloio

Nannarella or Niva for ice cream

SIGHTSEEING

Miradouro Senhora do Monte (A Miradouro is a viewpoint and there’s a few to absorb the beauty of the lisbon skyline)

Take the iconic old Tram 28 around the hotspots

Miradouro de Graça

Miradouro das Portas de Sol

Torre de Belém and walk back along the Avenida dos Descobrimentos (have the postal de natal over there!)

Santa Justa Elevator

Castelo Sao Jorge

Praça do Comercio (where all the commerce happened thousands of years ago! Can the Can is a cool spot),

get lost in Aflama

Cascais to wonder around on the cliffs

And if you have time go to the Moorish castle at Sintra

BARS

Feel the energy in Bairro Alto at night with too many bars to choose from

Red Frog (voted in the world’s Top 50 bars in 2022! also food options)

Toca da Roposa (awesome cocktail bar)

Cinco Lounge (another awesome cocktail bar)

ginginha do Carmo for our famous sour cherry shot

Pavilhão Chinês (feels more like a musuem or antique shop than a bar)

Hot Clube de Portugal (live music)

DOCAS area at night has many cool bars (under Ponte 25 de Abril, the red bridge!)

Gin Lovers (name says it all)

PARK (rooftop bar)

Foxtrot

Musa and Quimera brewpubs for my fellow beer lovers 🍻

For the restaurants, I would definitely book early seeing how many people come into Lisbon for Web Summit 🔥

Wishing you a truly amazing time and if you would like to meet up at Web Summit and exchange some conversation then you can easily book time in our calendars here 👇🏼

p.s. here’s an instrumental track that I love from a Portuguese band that goes by the name of Orelha Negra (the video also has some impressive imagery of the city of Lisbon).
